「REHERB」〜SAVE THE HIPHOP PROJECT 概要
In the Spring of 2009, from the collective efforts of DJ Yutaka and DJ Kensei, came the birth of Reherb: A project designed to "save Hip-Hop".
The integrity of the modern Hip-Hop Club Scene is questionable. Their goal was to gather the perfect DJs to revitalize this scene with the essence of what it once was, back in the day.
The beginning, Reherb
In Japan, where there is a prominent club scene, the night-life has become more than an attractive life-style, involving the entertainment industry and promotors where it has become a way of business.
Today we have a new wave of promoters, new forms of internet marketing and several methods of entertainment and marketable strategies allowing technology to advance promotions to another level.
With today's technology, virtually anyone can become a Club Promoter,
Events today have elaborated on creativeness, with showtime acts and DJs playing top 20 over and over to keep the flow, an atmosphere and new place for hook ups, etc to make the CLUB, a space for the clabbers of The current club with its commercial music atmosphere seems to never climax with clubs becoming ever more extravagant while the music remains almost identical from one venue to another.
And this is what we accept as the portrait of the modern club scene.
We all can agree that Clubs are legitimized businesses, however comparing it to what clubs were back in the day,
"Music" seems to no longer be respected. To the True DJ, Clubs are public grounds to "enjoy the purity of music," playing one track to the next with meaning and a message.
We also presume that the crowd and clubs also enjoy this important aspect as well.
From discovering new songs to hearing old ones, clubs offer a special space, mixed with good sound quality, delivering new experiences to the people.
However, we've seen a decline of this type of "space" we are so familiar with.
REAL DJs and people who look at todays clubs with the true values of the past carry questionable thoughts on todays club scene.
Understanding the clubs of today, REAL DJs have come together to deliver what clubs were all about.
"To truly enjoy music in a public space" is what we call, "REHERB"
2009年春、DJ YUTAKA とDJ KENSEIの呼びかけで始まったSAVE THE HIPHOP プロジェクト「REHERB」（読み：リハブ または、リハーブ）。 最近のヒップホップのクラブシーンに疑問を抱き、本来のHIPHOPクラブの姿に戻そうと、その主旨に賛同したREAL DJ's が集結し、実際にその姿を再現して「本来のクラブの楽しみ」を伝え続けようという、プロジェクトです。
「クラブ」が日本にすっかり定着した現在。 多くのファンが増え、主催者の集客合戦が始まり、あの手この手で収益を目的にして、プロの興行企業も参入。 一方で、アマチュアイベンターも、インターネットの活用と興行的手法のレベルアップによって話題性を上げるテクニックもプロ並みに。 実際のクラブイベントの内容についても工夫を凝らし、途中で入れるライブやショータイムをメインとした構成、DJはトップ20を何度もかけてフロアをあおる手法、ナンパしやすい環境作り、など、「催し物参加姿勢」な受け身クラバーを十分満足させることができます。
しかし、「クラブ」は、この流れでいいのでしょうか？ 継続のために収益をあげることは間違ってはいませんが、以前のクラブシーンと比較すると、「音楽」が粗雑に扱われている気がしてなりません。 REAL DJ'sにとっては、「純粋に音楽を楽しむパブリックな場」がクラブの本来の姿であり、プレイする一曲一曲に想いやメッセージを込めてプレイしています。フロアのお客も、それを分かっていて楽しんでいると確信しています。
クラブでは、知らない曲との素晴らしい出会いがあり、そして、知っている曲については、独特なクラブ空間と高いサウンドクオリティーにより、新しい発見があるもので、それを期待して足を運ぶ人の「場」が最近減ってしまっていることは確かです。 REAL DJ's と、それを期待する人から見た時、今のクラブシーンの変化に疑問を抱くのは当然。 そこで、それを期待する人と、そして、それを知って、これからそうなるであろう人の為に、REAL DJ's が集結し、「純粋に音楽を楽しむパブリックな場」を再現するイベントが「REHERB」です。

タイトルネームの「REHERB」とは
本来、DJはクラブのスターであり、カリスマ的存在でなければならず、フロアのお客はDJがかける音楽を聴いて、音楽を楽しむ。 リクエストはしない。 逆に、DJは、音楽でフロアを納得させる実力を持っていなければならない。 トップ20以外でフロアをロックできるのが、実力あるREAL DJ'sの姿。 そのようなDJと、それを楽しもうというスタンスのフロアのクラバーが、一つの箱で共に音楽を楽しむ一体感こそ、本来あるべきクラブの形。
違う方向に変化している現在のシーンが本来のクラブ、と、若者に勘違いされないよう、日本のトップDJたちが一堂に集まり、業界にリハビリを施します。REHERBというネーミングは、「リハビリ」と、癒しを与えてくれる「ハーブ」（音楽のたとえ）を掛け合わせた造語です。
The name, REHERB
The DJ is the star up in the club. who carries charisma and skill, to entertain the crowd and for all to enjoy music.
DJs should not be taking requests, rather they need to understand without requests on how to move the crowd.
A DJ who can rock the crowd without the ordinary top 20 tracks is truly a REAL DJ.
The clubber who enjoys this music alongside with the DJ, form a unity at this club space which brings us back to the true roots of what a club should be like.
How the club scene continues to move away from the true meaning of what clubs were for, has brought the top DJs in Japan together to reeducate and vitalize the true essence of clubs.
The name of Reherb comes from the mix of Rehabilitation and Herb, a way to bring comfort (with the roots from music).
大御所DJ'sの想い
プロジェクト主旨に賛同する実力あるDJのみに声をかけ、集まったメンバーは、大箱のメインゲストDJレベルの大御所ばかりです。 また、リハビリを施す来場者数を増やすために入場料の設定はリーズナブルとしています。 当然、大御所のDJのギャラが払えるほどの採算は取れていませんが、それでも毎回、REAL
DJ メンバーは、ノーギャラを覚悟してまでの出演。 大御所DJたちが、そこまでして継承しなければならない大切なメッセージとその想いが、このREHERBには込められています。 The DJs we call for this project are of the utmost caliber in todays club scene. Also, we've made this journey of rehabilitating hip-hop an affordable one with reasonable
fees for all guests who wish to experience this event.
In all honesty, we can't cover the costs of these top DJs, however, these REAL DJs have come together to bring you this event without pay.
A reason for Reherb and an important message that these DJs would like to share with you all.
